Summer Blues Outfit + Author Page/Update

I LOVE this outfit! It is really comfortable, breezy and it is pattern mixing which is something that I play around with and dip my toes into the water so to speak. Stripes and floral! I really like this skirt. It is so light and airy, and the vintage vibe is the best. I actually purchased this vintage beauty from a thrift store for a mere few dollars! The top I am wearing is actually a knit pencil dress that was a hand me down from a friend. I would never wear it as it is, but it makes the perfect top! I love the slightly puffed sleeves! I feel like I am pulling out of the Summer Blues a bit and the title was appropriate for this outfit! Having been sick for 2 weeks threw a monkey wrench in my “plans” or life. I didn’t mind the time off per say, but I feel like I lost half of my August! Where did the summer go? Losing that much time to watching Little House on the Prairie, and laying in bed or the couch for days on end has made me even more determined to enjoy the rest of the time I have left in the summer. I want to soak it up, spend a little more time in the sun, and enjoy family times out at the pool! Even though I have a lot of work that I am doing, I need to set aside some time for myself and family and just BE.

Introducing something new on the blog! I have an Author Page! I worked with my web designer and I now have a page where you can check up on my written work and the progress I am making on them! I had a lot of fun putting it together and I hope it piqued your interest! You can check it out here, or click on The Author button in the menu at the top of the page.

Also, earlier this year I did a post on Crazy Writing Goals. My goals weren’t necessarily crazy and they were achievable, but life took over as it so oftentimes does and I have more work than I can barely handle right now. So needless to say, my precious books have been put on hold for the moment, but as soon as I can get my head above water, and on top of my projects, I am so planning on getting cracking on finishing the two books that I am ready to finish! So many awesome things to come that I can’t hardly wait, but I do need to finish what God has put before me!

  1. You look wonderful! I really enjoy dark (navy) blues and floral/stripes are such a great combo. I must say too that your hair is beautiful! I am sorry to hear you got sick. I lost 1/2 of my December last year to sickness so I know it can be tough. I am not sure I have ever commented on your blog before, but I’ve been reading for awhile. Anyways, thanks for sharing.
