Take Courage: God is Still King

Hello everyone. I am sure you know what is going on in our world right now without having to be told. If you are like me, some of the stuff happening can be frightening and even downright depressing. I have been finding it difficult to keep my head in the right place so I thought I would share with you all some things that have been encouraging me right now.

I have a bracelet that has the phrase “Have courage and be kind” And while this may seem trite in the sense that it was a main quote from a Disney movie, when I look at it, I think of a verse that really speaks to me right now and is a great encourager.

Have Courage: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9 The Lord our God is with us! Wherever we go and whatever the circumstances! We do not need to be afraid. We have the God of the universe on our side and protecting us. Take heart. Take Courage.

Here are some more verses of encouragement for right now:

“Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor of the stormy blast or the storm and ruin of the wicked when it comes, for you will be guiltless. For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught in a trap or some hidden danger.” Proverbs 3:25-26

“The righteous shall never be removed, but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.” Proverbs 10:30

“The Kings heart is in the hand of the Lord, as are the watercourses; He turns it whichever way He wills.” Proverbs 21:1 This one has been so encouraging to me. The Lord holds the hearts of the rulers in His hand. We can trust that He will continue to guide those in power.

“There is NO human wisdom or understanding, or counsel that can prevail against the Lord.” Proverbs 21:30 Did you hear that? Nothing that is from human minds can prevail against the Lord. He is still in charge. He is still King. And a glorious and all knowing King at that. We can trust Him.

So, as you go forth today and wait for the next President to be elected and the other political offices to be filled, take courage from these verses and know that God is still King and ruler over all!

What is a verse that is encouraging you right now?

By God’s Grace,

Victoria
