Friday Favorites October/November 2016

Hello everyone! I am finally back with monthly faves! I had to combine these two months because I didn’t get to it last month and I really wanted to share what I enjoyed in October, so here we go!

Friday Faves collage 2

Music:

Because of NaNoWriMo, I have been listening to quite a bit of instrumental stuff. But These are my favorites from the past two month, instrumental and other stuff too!

~Celloverse by 2 Cellos: Whew! these guys are talented! This album rocks! there are a few that are a little too crazy for me, but the rest is the best! LOL!

~Beautiful Mind Soundtrack by James Horner :Just some sweet, calm but gorgeous music. Has been great for writing.

~Where the Light Is by Dan Bremnes: Loving many of these especially the title track, He Knows, In His Hands, and Heart on Fire.

~Classics by She and Him: the voices of this duo are just so gorgeous. Soft, rich and just plain pretty. They are all covers of older music like from the Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra era.  There are 1 or 2 I don’t care for, but my favorite is Time after Time because it reminds me of my sweet mama and daddy. Smile Also, the last track which is We’ll Meet Again. I have had that one on repeat for 10 times in a row. . .

~Uncharted by The Piano Guys: Love these guys of course, and their new album is the bomb! I have got to say that my favorite is the Pirates of the Caribbean medley. I have never seen the movie, but I enjoy the soundtrack and this was just awesome! They even got to work with Hans Zimmer (the writer of the soundtrack) when they arranged it.

~Undefeated by Tauren Wells: I really don’t like the second song on this EP that much, but the other three are great! They have been what I listen to when I need something upbeat to start cleaning or something.

~There’s a Light by Todd Smith: This one is the best. I would consider Todd Smith one of the voices of my childhood because pretty much the only thing I listened to from age 6-13 was Selah, of which Todd Smith was a part. Whenever I hear his voice it always takes me back and I feel comforted. Isn’t it crazy how memories can do that to you? When I saw that he was coming out with an album of his own again, I was super excited, and it didn’t disappoint! The title track is my favorite, but I love them all! I also like I Sing The Mighty Power Of Jesus, Jesus Is, and We Will Rise. Just so good and if there is only one thing in my list that you check out, I would want it to be this. It is just the best.

Books:

~Out of the Storm by Grace Livingston Hill: This one is one of my favorites of hers! I just found it, and read it for the first time! It was so good! Exciting, faith building, and kept me hooked till the end.

~The Restorer by Shannon Hink: This one was so good too! You can read my glowing goodreads review here. Hint, I actually just saw that it is free on kindle. WHAA!

~Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel: I am re-reading this one. I think I mentioned it in another post, but it is just so encouraging to me and helps build my faith as well as feel prepared with answers.

Movies:

~Singin’ in the Rain: This musical! So hilarious and heartwarming all at once! My sisters and I watched it for a second time with my Nana and we had a blast! I love all the characters and of course the songs. I drive my family nuts singing them all the time! LOL!

~Finding Dory: We got to see it this summer and I can’t wait for it to come out on dvd so we can watch it again, and so that those in our family who missed it can see it! Such cuteness. Finding Nemo was like, the only dvd we owned for a long time and we can still quote most of it. Smile But it was such a great movie, that when the sequel came out, we were so excited! Great family fun and humor! How come Pixar can make me cry about a bunch of fish?

Random Things I am Loving:

~Fall Orange Cardigan: I wore it in this outfit, but I have literally found a dozen ways to wear it and it is so comfortable! I just love it so much and I love the way it looks! Not to mention it is season appropriate because of the pretty orange color.

~Handmade Journals: These will be coming to the Etsy shop soon, but they turned out so good and I can’t wait to make myself a custom one!

~My New Dress: I tried it on and couldn’t help swirling in it! I love it so much and the fabric was perfection for what I wanted. A better look coming soon!

~my Candle: I have been enjoying lighting this while I write in my little nook in my room and it makes it so much better and the smell is heavenly. A friend makes them and they are so awesome!

What is something that has been your favorite lately? Do you like any of the things I mentioned?

Also, a quick question, do you like seeing these Fave posts? Or would you rather see other content? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Great post! I love to see your favorites! Ive read some Grace Livingston Hill, so if you like her work you should read Marcia Schuyler. Its the best imo. Oh and Singing in the Rain is probably my favorite movie of all time! My family and I have nearly died of laughing at the stunts and jokes 🙂 Love your outfit–such pretty boots! tess
