Snapshots of February 2017

I thought I would offer you some random snapshots of the month of February. I find myself taking pictures, but they don’t always make it to the blog. February is almost over already! *Wails* where did my favorite month go? Ah, well. Here is a post to commemorate the mundane, and un-special, but therefore special moments of the last month.

London In The Dark: Updates and Snippets

Hello everyone!

I wanted to give you an update on the status of my book, London In The Dark. I had hoped to have it published by now, but we ran into a snag with the cover. The printer doesn’t like the spacing, so I am working with my designer, and I hope to get it approved to print early this week.

But in order to interest you a little bit, I thought I would do something fun to keep me occupied so I won’t worry about my cover so much! Open-mouthed smile I thought I would gift you all with some snippets and teases from the book!Read More »

Chapter 13:

“God understands our prayers,

even when we can’t find the words to say them.” ~ unknown

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Casey had chased one of the goats which had squeezed past her and somehow made it out the gate when she had been trying to get in. It had headed towards the other side of the barn and she had taken off after it. Now, she stood in the midst of the pasture, remembering what Levi had said in warning about the bull. She felt the ground thunder under her feet and she turned to see the biggest beast she had ever seen barreling towards her from the far side of the field. She stood frozen to the spot, scared to death, but unable to move.

“Casey! Casey, run!” the shouts caught her attention and she turned her head stiffly towards the sound. She saw Mr. Abel running towards her. “Casey, run! RUN!” His words seemed to free her legs which had felt like they were stuck in cement. Her heart was beating so fast, so loud, that she could hear each thud loudly in her ears, drowning out all other sounds. She spun away from the monster that was streaking towards her and took off in a run towards Mr. Abel. The ground shook with the thunder of the bull’s hooves and she felt that he could be on her at any second and that she wasn’t running nearly fast enough.Read More »

Author-y Vlog and an Outfit

First of all. . . Here is a Part 1 of a Q&A vlog that I filmed! I put out a call for questions on Goodreads and I got some really great ones! I talk some about my writing of BOUND that you all have been reading over the last few months. Smile

/////Outfit/////

This is the outfit I wore on one of my birthday dates! I went out to a special restaurant with my Mama and Daddy. I got to dress up which is always a fun thing for me as I don’t get to do it as often as I like. This dress is perfect for the season, wintry enough, but still very classy.Read More »

Chapter 12

“so much of what we learn about love

is taught by people who never really loved us. . .” ~ r.h. Sin

//////////////////////////////////////////////////

The next few days seemed to go by slowly to Casey, but in a blur all at the same time. The days were full, even though she was mostly a spectator. The kids made valiant efforts to include her as did the parents. The nights were longest. The nightmares plagued her, she wet her bed twice and three times her screams brought the whole family running, which made her feel terrible.

Rose took her aside on her last day. “Casey, honey, the social worker called and they found you a new home. I believe she said you stayed with them before? The Bellworths?”

“Miz Mariah and Mr. Abel?” hope flickered in her heart, then anger. The conflicting emotions confused her and she wasn’t sure what she felt.Read More »

Where Is Your Mission Field?

Mission field post

I am reading through the gospels in the month of February. I made it through the first half of Mark yesterday. I have been asking God to show me things as I read. New things, things I may not have noticed before. I am finding that no matter how many times you can read a bible verse, there is always something new to learn.

In Mark 5 I was reading through the story of the man who was possessed by the group of demons that called themselves “legion”.

The end of the story is what captured my attention.Read More »
