Snapshots of February 2017

I thought I would offer you some random snapshots of the month of February. I find myself taking pictures, but they don’t always make it to the blog. February is almost over already! *Wails* where did my favorite month go? Ah, well. Here is a post to commemorate the mundane, and un-special, but therefore special moments of the last month.

A gorgeous, cloudy, wintery sunset. In awe of our Creator! There have been so many breathtaking sunsets this month, I wish I could capture them all!

Printed up London to send to my proofreader. It was as close to a physical copy as I have been able to get and it was so cool to see all the pages!

DSC06082

I bound it with my Dad’s help so that we could keep it all in order so no one had to worry about getting pages mixed up.

DSC06084

I got it back from the proofreader! EEP! That was such an awesome present to arrive on my birthday!

DSC06096

Working on another book. Character Sheets and backstories are awesome.

Making a special (and labor intensive) dinner for the family while Mama and Daddy were on a date. Everyone’s favorite panko breaded chicken with my brothers recipe of flash hash potatoes. I didn’t do them as well as he did, but they were still good! Little sis made brownies and the broccoli. I made sure we had a veg. Open-mouthed smile

A gorgeous winter sunrise. Little sis caught this picture while I was still in bed. One of those random things I found on my camera. Thanks girl!

Making homemade pasta for Valentine’s dinner!

I had lots of little helpers who wanted to spin the pasta machine.

DSC06301

Mmmm. . . homemade pasta dough!

DSC06302

Table décor. Dark chocolate Hershey kisses ya’ll. So good!

DSC06303

LOTS of pasta for this big family!

DSC06315

TA-DA! YIPPEE! This dinner was fab. Everyone helped to get it finished and it was SOOOO GOOOOD!

We had such fun over dinner. Everyone had to make a valentine for a sibling whose name they had drawn from a hat. They were hidden under the plate, and when we were done eating, we all read them aloud. I don’t think we have laughed so hard in such a long time. Such a joy and a delight. Especially since the older bros who had moved out got to be there too. It was a night that left me feeling all warm and glowy inside.

Working on a painting project I had inspiration for while enjoying some candy hearts from our Valentine’s party. I love doing art work with dresses. The seamstress in me likes to come out in more ways than just sewing.

DSC06324

Speaking of Seamstress-ing, I just started on a custom order for a 1940’s vintage suit! It will be challenging, but I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I might have to make myself one!

Todays work, comfy outfit.

This sums up how I feel after this month. This sign is in my room and I love how it prettily states how I should feel all the time. You can always find something to be thankful for.

Other fun things that happened this month.

* Brother and Sis-in-law found out the gender of their baby. It’s a girl and I get another niece! SO happy!

*LOTS of progress was made on London in the Dark and it is almost published!

*I saw the movie Hidden Figures in theatre’s twice, because it was just so amazing!

*I had a birthday. One of the best ever!

*I read 8 books this month, in addition to editing mine.

*I read through all the gospels

* Some new things shifted with family life.

*I completed learning the 3rd movement of the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. Now all that remains is playing the living daylights out of it so that I can play it with ease. Whew! That was an accomplishment though!

I am sure there a few more things, but that is the most noteworthy. Open-mouthed smile

What special thing happened to you in February? What is a random snapshot from your month?

  1. I love your “Simply Blessed” sign! I think you just inspired me to make a T-shirt with these two words on it! Your three dresses painting is awesome! I’m glad you had a fun dinner with your family! One question, is that a special rack just for hanging pasta?
