The Rebellion: Tour and Interview

WELCOME!!!! EEP! I am so excited to introduce you to one of my dear friends, Livy Jarmusch! She is such a doll and is amazing at everything she puts her hand to. Her second book of the Tarsurella series just came out and I am here to help her celebrate! It is called The Rebellion, as you can see by these BEAUTIFUL graphics! The cover is stunning, I must say!

About the Book:

Something is brewing. Like the far off rumble of a train in the distance, a rebellion is stirring. A cry for change arises in the midst of a traditional monarchy, where King Addison has inherited the throne. Who are the underground troublemakers? What is stirring their defiant banner and demand for change? Find out in The Rebellion! Vanessa Bennett lands her dream job working at the Palace in Tarsurella. She struggles to balance everything on her plate: life in a new country, stressful deadlines, crabby co-workers, college classes at the local University, and blossoming feelings of romantic adoration toward her boss–King Addison. Keeping up with her To-Do list, while trying to earn respect in Addison’s male-dominated administration, presents its challenges. Nevertheless, she can’t help but fight a reoccurring thought and the excitement rising with it: is Addison interested in her? Addison is adjusting to his new role as King. Rumors of a rebellious uprising among the youth in Tarsurella intensifies, as acts of violence and protest break out across the city. Addison is determined to uncover the hidden instigator who fearlessly blogs democracy-driven ideals with a secretive pen name. Will Addison discover and expose the fiery rebellion leader? Or will his efforts fail to stop the rebellious thoughts spreading like wildfire, causing a heartbreaking rift in his divided nation?

The Interview:

Hi Livy! Thank you so much for joining me on my blog today! It’s a delight to have you!
Aw, thank you Victoria! It’s such a blessing to have the chance to do this! ❤

1)What inspired the Taursarella series?

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE castles, glitter, fairytales, and all things romantic and whimsical. (Just take a look at my Pintrest boards, haha!) Sadly, there are not very many movies or books that I’ve found that quite offer the kind of entertainment that I’m looking for, with all of those elements. I mean, you either have Disney or Hallmark movies, and both of those can get a little cheesy at times. So as a teenager, I decided I wanted to write my own story about a modern day Royal family. I had a lot of free time and a crazy active imagination, so that’s how The Tales of Tarsurella was born!

2) What is the main idea of Taursalla? Could you sum up your series in three sentences or less?

Tarsurella is a fictitious nation in modern-day Europe. The stories revolve around a large, Christian, homeschool family, who just so happens to live in an ancient castle and rule a darling little country. 😉 It’s about faith, family, purity, relationships, growth, and hope.

3) Who is your favorite character in the series?

AHH. Such a hard question. And I think I give a different answer each time, haha! I think I’m going to have to go to my fallback answer; little Millie. She’s an adorable eight-year-old with a hyperactive imagination, and it’s just so much fun to write about her, and see the world through her innocent, carefree, adventurous eyes.

4) Are you a coffee, tea, or other kind of girl?

Tea! I love peppermint tea. And somehow, peppermint tea shows up in all of my books, too! Haha.

5) What is your favorite pass time to just relax?

I love playing guitar and singing. Worshiping and spending time with the Lord is my favorite thing ever. I also love walking and swimming in the lake, when the weather warms up. And then my crazy one-girl-karaoke and dance parties. Those are always fun, haha!

6) What are a few ways you keep yourself motivated and inspired?

My number one way for staying both motivated and inspired is to stay in communion with God. Jesus said He is the vine and apart from Him I can do nothing…and that is SO true. He is my source of life, love, energy, ideas, inspiration, and perseverance. If I’m starting to feel drained or discouraged, it’s kinda like a warning symbol that lights up on my dashboard: I need to go spend time with the King of Kings.

7) What do you hope people take away from your books?

Before a new book releases, I always pray two things. Number one, that the Lord will drawn people to his heart. That every reader will discover something new about God’s heart for them, and truly feel like they want to know Him and love him more. The second thing I pray, is for creativity and inspiration to spread like wildfire. I like to write things that are little bit “outside of the box” in hopes of showing other aspiring authors that sometimes the “rules” can be over-rated. If God has placed something unique on your heart, that doesn’t quite seem like it fits into your niche market, or isn’t “best-seller” material, don’t allow those realities to shut down the creative ideas God is giving you. Be who HE created you to be, and write what He gives you. After all, you’re not writing for everyone. Your writing will connect with those He wants your words to touch, and we don’t have to worry about everything else. So if you start to feel a little bit extra creative, or have new ideas forming while reading The Tales of Tarsurella…don’t be surprised! 😉

8) What other authors have inspired you?

I honestly don’t read very much fiction. I think it’s mostly because I struggle to find things I’m truly interested in (hense the reason I started writing, haha!) but also because I always have so many ideas floating around in my mind, I really don’t have much time to read fiction. But I do read a lot of non-fiction and devotionals. I’d say the author who as impacted me the most, has been Lisa Bevere.

9) If you could live inside of one book world for a day, what world/book would it be?

I think I would choose to spend a day in Tarsurella! I think it would be really fascinating, and such a blast to finally meet my characters in person!

10) What bible girl inspires you the most?

Oh my goodness, what a great question! There are so many amazing ladies in the Bible, but if I had to choose just one, I’d say Esther. I will never grow tired of reading the book of Esther. It’s loaded with so many amazing truths we can apply to our lives, and wow, I just love Esther. I’ve actually done a  lot of writing about her, and I shared a lot of revelations the Lord gave me about Esther, in my book Secrets of Royalty. I also recently just wrote a blog post for my best friend’s ministry, which is called Becoming Esther, so I encourage you all to check that out here if you like! 🙂

It was so fun reading your answers Livy! Thank you for sharing!

There you have it folks!  My little sister LOVES The Coronation, and I can’t wait to read them myself!

By God’s Grace,
